Clark, Lady Falcons blank Uniontown, 6-0

Ava Clark pitched Class 2A Brownsville to a second straight non-section softball victory over a fellow Fayette County playoff team on Friday.
One day after leading the Lady Falcons to a 3-1 win at Class 4A Laurel Highlands, Clark fired a three-hit shutout with 17 strikeouts in a 6-0 home win over Class 4A Uniontown on Friday.
Clark walked just one as Brownsville improved to 12-7.
The Lady Falcons scored one run in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth against losing pitcher Alivia Noah, who surrendered just one earned run on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts in 4 1/2 innings.
Emmaleigh Noah pitched 1 2/3 scoreless, hitless innings in relief with one walk and four strikeouts for the Lady Raiders (10-8).
Lena Rechichar had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Falcons, who also got a double from Ciara Horabik and a single, an RBI and two runs scored from Emma Leigh Bailey.
Katie White doubled and singled to account for two of Uniontown’s three hits, which the other being a single by Emmaleigh Noah.
WAYNESBURG CENTRAL 5, WEST GREENE 2 – Gina Tedrow pitched a five-hitter, Kolbi Rastoka hit a tiebreaking two-run homer and Kalee Piper also hit a home run as the host Lady Raiders topped the playoff-bound Lady Pioneers in a non-section game.
Tedrow walked two and struck out 10 in her final game at Waynesburg.
The game was tied 2-2 when Rastoka’s blast in the fifth put the Lady Raiders (8-11) in front to stay.
Waynesburg also got a double, single and two RBIs from Eva Pester and a double from Ellie Makel.
Josie Mason had two hits and an RBI for West Greene (12-7), which also got two hits from Kylee Davis.
Losing pitcher Sammi Zimmerman gave up five hits and one walk with six strikeouts.
The Lady Pioneers’ only runs came in the third inning when Madelyn Roberts hit an infield single, stole second and came home on a single by Mason, who then scored on a passed ball.
THOMAS JEFFERSON 11, MOUNT PLEASANT 5 – Kendell Waters had two hits and two RBIs but the Lady Vikings fell to the host Lady Jaguars (15-3) in a non-section meeting of playoff teams.
Mount Pleasant (13-4) also got a double and an RBI from Kendra Brunson, a double from Chloe Borelli and a single and an RBI each from Danica Trainer and Emma Miller.
