Red Raiders fend off Greensburg Salem for 72-59 win
The Uniontown boys closed out Friday’s non-section game with a 17-11 fourth quarter to secure a 72-59 victory at Greensburg Salem.
The Red Raiders improve to 17-3 overall and close the regular season Monday night when they host Laurel Highlands.
The Golden Lions go to 8-13 overall.
Greensburg Salem led 18-16 after the first quarter, but the Red Raiders pulled into a 37-28 lead at halftime. The Golden Lions pushed back with a 20-18 third quarter before the visitors put the game away in the final eight minutes.
Isaiah Melvin led Uniontown with 21 points. Billy DeShields scored 13 and Jahmere Richardson added 10.
Greensburg Salem’s Ryan Thomas finished with a game-high 25 points. Zack Oberdorf and Dante Parsons both scored 10.
