Carl Edward Haines, 73, of Fairchance, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 17, 2026.
He was born February 8, 1953, in Fairchance.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Wilbur and Catherine Haines; and siblings, Bruce Haines, Larry Haines, Betty Haines Brempell and Kenny Haines.
Surviving are his children, Heather Jean and John Kowalski, and Steven and Heather Lynn Haines; grandchildren, Isabella Haines, Nicole Jean Kowalski and Abby Irene Kowalski; loving companion, Paula; and adopted daughter, Debbie and husband Harry; siblings, Wanda Haines Washko, Lisa Haines, Bonnie Keefer, Bill Haines and Eric Haines; nieces and nephews.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Marines.
The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, and from 9 until the time of a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, with Pastor Melanie Lewellen officiating. Interment will follow in the Smithfield-Fairchance American Legion Post 278 Veterans Cemetery at Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, where Military Rites will be accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103 Honor Guard.
