Barbara I. Check, 101, of Uniontown, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown. She was born December 3, 1924, in Dunbar, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Sweda Check.
Barbara was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. She graduated from Dunbar Township High School and was employed for many years at the Youth Center in Connellsville.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Katherine Kollar of Uniontown.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Check; and sisters, Ann Sarko and Margaret Churray.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME LLC, 123 S. 1st Street, Connellsville, (724) 628-9033, Thursday, July 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Friday, July 24, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., whn a blessing service will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church in Connellsville.
