Keith Allen “Soomie” Soom, 67, of Lemont Furnace, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1959 in Connellsville, the son of Betty E. Sherman Soom and the late William Soom, Sr.

In addition to his father, Keith was preceded in death by his sister, Phoebe Livingood.

Keith worked doing tree and shrub removal.

He attended Cove Run Free Methodist Church.

Keith enjoyed quad riding, and he played the accordion and piano. He was a member of Lemont Sportsman’s Club, Dunbar Eagles, Valley Sportsman’s Club, Fairview Club and Connellsville Eagles, and a social member of North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his mother, left to cherish Keith’s memory are his son, Donald “Donnie” Soom of Ligonier; daughters, Amanda Soom of Uniontown and Anna Soom of Connellsville; brothers, William Hill, Sr. of Republic, David Lawrence (Janice) of Boulder, Colo., William “Mike” Soom, Jr. (Randi) of Uniontown; his sisters, Georgie Richards, Angela Soom, Teressa Powell (Mark), Billie Fuller (Bob), Gina Soom and Carmella Soom, all of Uniontown; grandchildren, Logan, Seth, Bobby and Anthony; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom he loved dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received Saturday, July 11, from 2 until 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, when a service celebrating Keith’s life will begin, with Pastor Travis Edgar officiating. Interment will be private.
