Elaine F. Davis Minor, 91, of Uniontown, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, in her home, with her family by her side. Elaine was born March 27, 1934, in Uniontown, to the late John Lee and Mable Price Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tompson Minor, Sr.; son, Jerry A. Minor, Sr.; grandson, Jerry A. Minor, Jr.; granddaughter, Janette A. Minor; siblings, Alberta Waller, John Davis, Robert Vassar, twin sister Evelyn Thomas, and Katherine Dalton.
Elaine’s favorite thing to do every morning was to have coffee and toast with her twin, Evelyn in their “house dresses” and make donut holes for her grandchildren. Elaine was a loving but tough granny with a wooden spoon in her hand, and she babysat most of her grandchildren while their parents worked. Elaine worked several jobs but being chief baby-sitter gave her the most pleasure. She also served as a faithful usher for many years at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she helped start the cradle row for the newborn babies.
Elaine is survived by her children, Thompson (Lena) Minor, Jr., Doreen (Ronnie) Minor- Miniafee, Kevin Minor and Derek (Karen) Minor; siblings, Geraldine Jackson, James Davis, Margo Francis, Phillip Vassar, and Myrna Crable; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and adopted grandchildren, adopted daughters, Kyra and Joanne, and a host of nephews and nieces.
Elaine’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Home Health Care of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 51 Stewart Avenue, Uniontown, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service Monday, January 26, with Pastor Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr. officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
