Dolores Jean Williams Matras, 98, of Perryopolis, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Horizon PCH, Fairchance. Born July 12, 1927 in Wickhaven, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn McCracken Williams.
A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mrs. Matras was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis.
Dolores worked at Randall’s Restaurant for over 50 years as a waitress retiring at age 81.
She loved to crochet, enjoying other crafts such as pottery, ceramics and sewing, and was a true “fashinista”, loving to dress up. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great- grandchildren before anything. She was also a caregiver for her mom and sister.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Maureen Calderone Matras of Perryopolis; three grandchildren, Maura (Aaron) Drop, Michael (Cara) Matras, Mark (Kara) Matras; six great- grandchildren, Michael R. Matras, Eli Matras, Cameron Matras, Brynlee Nirmaier, Rowan Matras, Saylor Drop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael “MIG” Matras (2003); sister, Margaret Williams; and three brothers, Ralph Williams, Woodrow Williams and James Williams.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 18, in the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty Street, Perryopolis, 724-736-2515. The Slovak Catholic Sokols will have a prayer service at 5 p.m. Sunday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 19, in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John The Baptist RC Church, with the Rev. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. John The Baptist RC Cemetery.
