Gerald F. Claybaugh, Jr., 81, of Perryopolis, formerly of Fallowfield Township, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 in Penn Highlands – Mon Valley, Monongahela.

Born June 5, 1944 in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Gerald F. Claybaugh Sr. and Justina Kostal Claybaugh. He was a resident of Perryopolis for the past six years and was Catholic by faith.

Jerry served in the United States Air Force supporting the electronic systems on the B-52 Bomber and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was very proud of his Air Force service and would reflect on his service, riding his motorcycle throughout California, and SAC Alerts.

Jerry graduated from Bell-Mar High School and attended the Pittsburgh Automation Institute on the G.I. Bill to study computers. His career spanned several decades in computers and information systems with Kelly & Cohen, Retail Ventures, and ultimately becoming VP of Information Systems with American Eagle.

He was very fond of animals, science, sports, and always made time to attend his son’s sporting events.

He is survived by his two sons, Brendan Claybaugh of Lake City, and Brodie Claybaugh and wife Becky of Perryopolis; daughter, Tracy Claybaugh; sister, Geraldine Yowonske of Rostraver Township; sister- in-law Gloria Gombala; and five grandchildren, Brenna, Braedan, Benjamin, Logan and Royce.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sematic Claybaugh in 2020.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, in the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty Street, Perryopolis, 724-736-2515, where Prayers of Transfer will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
