Janet Phillips Forsythe

Janet Phillips Forsythe 89, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2025, in her home, with her loving family by her side.
She was born March 26, 1936, in Farmington.
Preceeding her in death were her husband of 58 years, Wilson J. Forsythe; her parents, John Phillips and Helen Lancaster Phillips; foster parents, Wilber “Web” Gerhardt and Virginia Gerhardt; foster grandmother, Winnie Coleman “The Girl”; grandson, Eric Floyd; three sisters and one brother.
Janet graduated from Uniontown Area High School. She was a member of Mount Washington Presbyterian Church.
Janet had been a bookkeeper/manager for J C Penney Company before retiring as a pharmacy technician from RX Plus (formally Gallatin Pharmacy) after 35 years of dedicated service.
Janet was the proud mother of two loving daughters, whom she cherished, and she was a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Janice F. Hanson of Charleston, W.Va., and Cindy Lu Floyd (Ed) of Uniontown; one granddaughter, Jenny Marie Parsons (Ben); and three great- grandchildren, Makenzie, Cordelia and Dean; and one special grandson, Eric “Pete” Peters, all of Charleston; sister, Sarah Barr of Hyattsville, Md.; and her cherished kitty companion, CindaSue.
To honor Janet’s wishes, funeral services were private and under the direction of SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown.
Interment was in Barren Run Cemetery, Smithton.
The family wishes to thank WVU Hospice, especially, Brenda, Laura, Pastor Carl, and Bethany. A special thank you to caregivers, Ida O. (BFF), Cindy W. and to Susan who always made Janet look divine.
