Dennis D. “Butch” Wamsley, 77, of Dilliner, Pa., died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born in Waynesburg on Jan. 7, 1948, he was a son of the late James E. and Edna David Wamsley.

He was a coal miner, having retired from Peabody’s Blacksville Federal #2 Mine, and a member of the UMWA. Butch enjoyed traveling, but being out in the woods and hunting was his passion. And he loved his Ford vehicles, it didn’t matter if they were new or old, running or parked.

Surviving is a daughter, Teressa Ann Jordan; two grandchildren, Colbey Jordan and Ginger Jordan, both of Point Marion; four great-grandchildren, Remington, Jamison, Aulora and Jackson; and a brother, Jim Wamsley of Carmichaels.

He was predeceased by brothers, Don, Billy and Keith, and sisters Doris, Irene, Alma and Loretta.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Saturday, from 5 to 8 p.m.. A brief funeral service will begin at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Butch routinely supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital over the years, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be offered there in Butch’s name.
