Velma Seman

formerly of Uniontown
Velma Seman, 91, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully Monday, June 2, 2025, in her home. She was born September 17, 1933, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Michael Seman and Elizabeth Hrabesak Seman.
Also preceding her in death were nine siblings, Michael, Andrew, Edward, George and Tommy Seman, Mary Burnworth, Elizabeth Schaffer, Veronica Bauch and Helen Lucy.
Velma was a graduate of South Union Senior High School and trained and worked as a Registered Nurse at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She had a long career as an orthopedic corporation manager and later served as the office services manager at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, McKees Rocks, where she was a faithful member. She spent much of her life in service to her Lord and the church.
Her patriotic love of America, and her family, was nothing short of remarkable. She worked hard throughout her life and was a truly self- made person.
Left to cherish her memory are her church family; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown. A Parastas Service will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 East Main Street, Uniontown. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
