Romona Lee Thomas, 69, of Brownsville, was called home to be with her Lord Saturday, January 25, 2025; she passed peacefully in her sleep.

Romona was born January 29, 1955, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of John Sims and Maxine Valentino.

Romona enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved to shop and be at her favorite place, “Walmart”. She loved her church family and her kids on the bus.

Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Tanya Penny, Brian Walker, William Larue, and Rae’Neille Forrest; two sons-in-law, James Penny, Sr. and Antwone Forrest, Sr.; grandchildren, Andre Walker, James Penny, Jr., Josh Woods, Demtric Walker, Paris Walker, Rae’Ven Walker, Brian Walker. and great- grandchildren, A’raya Walker, Josh Woods, Alexander Walker, Ny’ Aire Blakey, Anderona Blakey, Enai Burrell; her sisters, Elaine Valentino, Felicia Valentino and Desiree Valentino; and her brother, Richie Walker. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her church family’s service will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, in California Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 73 Promised Land Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423 (family only from 12 to 1 p.m.; all others are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m. to pay respects to Romona and the family).

Her celebration of life will be officiated by Pastor Adams Lawson of Fresh Fire Church, Uniontown.
