Lois Signora Mickens Fairfax, 84, went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 18, 2025, surrounded by her family in Uniontown.

Born October 29, 1941, in Old Wynn (Fayette County), she was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving mother, Nana, and wife to her late husband, Ken, for 53 years.

She is survived by her son, Kenny; daughter-in- love, Amber; five grandchildren, McKenzie, KJ, Mia, Aaron, and Trey; brother, Charles Mickens and wife Barbara; brothers-in-law, Donald, Charles, James Melvin; sisters-in-law, Catherine and Beatrice; and countless nieces and nephews, all whom she loved endlessly.

Lois was predeceased by her husband, Ken; four sisters, Christine Fitzgerald, Eleanor Chandler, Arlene Tarpley, Lillian Mickens; four brothers, Kenneth, Melvin, Robert, Rich; and her parents, Marguerite Banks and Aaron Dock Mickens.

Lois graduated from Fairchance Georges Joint High School in 1959.

She retired from Penn DOT in April 2004, after 33 years of dedicated service as a type clerk for the Right of Way.

She enjoyed bowling, singing, and traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandbabies and family.

Lois was a shining light in the lives of all the people who knew and loved her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and her unwavering faith in God.

Much love is sent to her prayer warriors: Pat King, Sherry Fields, Madonna Minor and Carol Mickens, and a special thank you to Jackie Harris.

May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy and love in all that we do. We can continue to honor Lois by welcoming Jesus into our lives.

Friends will be received in the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3. Her Celebration of Life will continue at the YWBA, 624 Duck Hollow Road, Uniontown, where friends will fellowship and join for repast.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Cavalry Assembly of God Church.

Condolences and floral tributes may be submitted to the family via www.lantzfh.com
