Teresa “Terrie” Elizabeth Boggio Simko, 75, of Carmichaels, passed away peacefully, in her home, Saturday, December 20, 2025, after the most graceful and courageous battle.

Teresa, endearingly known as TT, was born in Waynesburg, Pa. on May 31, 1950 a daughter of the late Matthew James and Rita Jean Antonini Boggio.

She was a 1968 graduate of Carmichaels area High school and a lifelong member of the former Our Lady of Consolation parish in Nemacolin, Pa.

On October 4, 1975 she married the most handsome soldier and her soul mate Nicholas Simko, who died September 12, 2023.

TT spent a short time working for Centerville Clinics prior to her promotion to full time Mom to their daughter Rita in 1979. She took this position very seriously; caregiver, chef, maid, tutor, chauffeur, therapist, and most importantly fashion designer. In 1995 TT became the face of the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmichaels. There she would spend the next nearly two decades greeting, talking, smiling at and learning all about every dancer and artist coming in to perfect their craft. One thing remained a constant in the lives of so many and that was TT. She left that role to take on her greatest promotion in 2014 when she became a Grandma to Rowan James, though still known as TT (in her words “Grandma’s are old people). She and Rowan saw every movie when it came to the theatre fighting each other for the popcorn bucket. They had so many adventures together, sang songs, built sandcastles, were the best of hot tub buddies at the beach, weekly trips to Chuck E. Cheese and experienced his first trip to Disney World with him where she left the lasting memory of running him over with her scooter, which he reminded her gently just recently in case she had forgotten. To say a piece of his heart went with her is an understatement.

TT loved her family, friends and even strangers fiercely and it was apparent through her positivity, caring and giving soul, and genuine love for mankind. In her free time TT’s hobbies included shopping, shopping, talking on the phone, and shopping some more.

She is survived by daughter, Rita (Jason) Nichols of Carmichaels; grandson, Rowan James Nichols of Carmichaels; sister, Penny Rae Wasko of Uniontown, Pa. and brother, Matthew James Boggio (Charmayne) of Macomb, Mich. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially Nurse Jackie and Heidi, for the most exceptional end of life care.

Family and friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERALl HOME, INC., 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels, Pa., Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Owner and Aaron S. Walker, Funeral Director. A blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in the funeral home followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection in St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev.
