Charles R. Lynch, 75, of Perryopolis, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025. He was born and raised in Perryopolis September 10, 1949, a son of Van Maylon and Olive Stuck Lynch.

Charles was a graduate of Frazier High School Class of 1967. He was retired from Sony. He was a life member of the Perry Township VFD having joined the department when he was 16. Charles was a member of the Fayette County Firemen’s Association, the Western Pennsylvannia Firemen’s Association, and Southwestern Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs Association.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Perryopolis and St. John’s Roman Catholic Church of Perryopolis.

Chuckie was also a member of the Perryopolis Parks and Recreation, serving as president this past year. Preserving the history of the town was his passion. He had so much knowledge of the town and beamed with pride when he spoke of home. He believed in traditions, honor, and respect for family and community. He instilled these values into his children and grandchildren. His legacy and passion will live on through them.

Chuckie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia; three sons, John (Lisa), Timmy (Nichole), and Leonard (Melissa); two daughters, Amy (Sean) Girasia, and Sonya (George) McGavitt. He was the proud “Pap” to Heather (Brad) Beiter, Dylan Lynch, Jacob, Kolton and McKenna Lynch, Emma (Nick) Miller, Olivia Girasia, Shane (April) and Gabby McGavitt, Zoe and Gracie Lynch, Aubrie (Zach) Wentroble, Savannah Ford, and Kaleb Acrie; and proud great-grandpap to Corinne Harper. His family was his pride and joy and he loved them unconditionally!

Charles is also survived by his sister, Newana (Stanley) Seruga of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Nancy Lynch of Perryopolis and Bernadette Sobek of Pittsburgh; many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews, who are all left to cherish his memory.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dyke, Leonard, Don and Barry; sister, Linda Eley; sisters-in-law, Barb Lynch, Janice Lynch, Joyce Lynch, Marcella Schwenk; brothers-in- law: E. James Eley, Robert Schwenk, and Ted Sobek; three nephews, Eric Schwenk, Donald Lynch and David Lynch.

Funeral arrangements are private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to a charity of one’s choice, in his memory.

The family sends its sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff of Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation, especially Nurse Amy, and also to all of his care givers over the years.
