Susan Kaye Horwatt 82, of Normalville, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on December 31, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Sidney and Beula Mountain Prinkey.
Sue grew up in Brownsville, where she graduated high school. Sue married her high school sweetheart, Matt, in 1961, their marriage spanned an inspiring 63 years, a testament to their enduring love and companionship.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughters Kitty Zoe and Ann Elizabeth Horwatt.
She is survived by her husband Matt, her children Jeff Horwatt and friend Paula, of Connellsville, Holly Snyder, David Horwatt both of Normalville, and Michael and wife Tiffany Horwatt of Brownsville. Her grandchildren Sammi and Cole Snyder, Michael Jr. and Hailey Jo Horwatt. Siblings Zoe Roberts and Sidney R. (Rik) Prinkey Jr. both of Normalville. Niece and nephew Summer and Sidney R. Prinkey III. Great-nephews Wyatt, Luke and Bo Dean.
Sue’s love for her family was unwavering and deeply felt by all who knew her. Among her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren- playing with them brought her endless happiness and earned her the cherished nickname “Mum Mum”.
A talented seamstress and baker, Sue found joy in creating things with her hands. Whether she was sewing something special or baking treats for loved ones. She poured love into everything she did. Sue’s legacy is one of love- steadfast and nurturing- and she will be remembered for the deep bonds she shared with those closest to her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
