Shirley Ann Reckard Merbedone, 75 of Morgantown, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Shirley was born March 7, 1950 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Fairchance.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John W. Reckard and Dora J. Sutton Reckard.
Surviving are her family, daughter, Angela Merbedone-Arnett and son-in-law Jeffrey Arnett; son, Matthew Merbedone and daughter-in- law, Jennifer Merbedone and daughter Christina Merbedone-Byrd and son-in-law Andrew Byrd; loving grandchildren, Aiden, Julia, Ava, Jack, Everly, Hailey, Connor and Charlotte.
Shirley graduated from Uniontown High School and received a nursing degree from Springfield, Ohio. As a registered nurse, she dedicated over 20 years of her life to taking care of patients at Ruby Memorial Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Though her greatest love and passion in life was her children and grandchildren. She cherished being a “Gawwa” to those she loved most in her life. She will be sadly missed by all.
The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 2 to 5 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Kelley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
