Three Uniontown men charged with assault

2 min read

Three Uniontown men are accused of a June assault against a couple outside their home in Uniontown.

The men — Javon Brown, 33; Kevin Johnson, 35; and Jacob Stewart, 27 — are charged with aggravated assault, riot with intent to commit a felony, simple assault and harassment.

On the night of June 21, the men are accused of severely beating Robert Engle outside his Pershing Court residence, causing an orbital fracture and three facial fractures, according to their criminal complaints.

Uniontown police, who spoke with Engle that night, said he was bleeding from multiple places on his face and had swelling two to four inches wide from his forehead to his right cheek around the eye, which was swollen shut, the complaint said.

Engle’s girlfriend, Destine Nicklow, told police after one of the men had told her to come outside, she saw four men kicking and punching Engle. When she pushed them away, Johnson and Brown hit her in the face multiple times, the complaint said. Police did not see any injuries on her, according to court documents.

Nicklow also identified Stewart as a man getting into a car after the assault, the complaint said.

Engle was taken to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital after the incident, police said.

No preliminary hearing date had been set as of Thursday afternoon.
