Greene man arrested on child porn charges
A Greene County man was charged with more than 20 counts relating to child pornography
In December, TikTok made a report to a national tipline after discovering several videos on the account of Jacob Rex, 19, of Crucible, according to his criminal complaint.
The reports described four videos, one of which involved a girl appearing to be between 5 and 7, the complaint said.
An IP address provided by TikTok led investigators from the Southwest Computer Crime Unit to a home in Crucible, where they executed a search warrant on Friday. Court documents stated Rex declined to speak with police, who recovered a phone in Rex’s bedroom on which they found videos within one of the apps.
Rex is charged with possessing child sexual abuse material, disseminating film of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication facility.
Rex’s bail was set at $75,000. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Lee Watson on Feb. 4.
