A Connellsville chiropractor has pleaded guilty to indecent assault and invasion of privacy, acknowledging inappropriate conduct toward four female clients at his Dunbar practice.

Jon Rumbaugh, 59, pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent assault and four counts of invasion of privacy earlier this week in Fayette County Common Pleas Court. Under a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office, he will serve six to 24 months on probation with restrictive conditions, and spend six months on electronic monitoring, according to court documents filed Wednesday. Without the plea deal, Rumbaugh could have faced up to 15 years according to the court order.

Between December 2023 and March 2024, Rumbaugh was charged in three separate cases relating to four women who were seen at his practice.

According to court filings, police first interviewed a woman in 2021 who reported that Rumbaugh massaged her breasts for about five minutes during an appointment. Another woman described a similar incident that occurred in January 2022, telling investigators Rumbaugh massaged her breasts for approximately 10 minutes.

The Connellsville chiropractor faced additional charges after police interviewed a third victim who said she had been seen by him in February 2022 for back pain. That woman alleged that Rumbaugh began to massage her breasts during the appointment.

Police filed another set of charges after a fourth woman reported that she had multiple appointments at his Dunbar Township practice between 2018 and 2022 for upper back and neck pain. During these appointments, she said Rumbaugh would touch her breasts and claim it was necessary for treatment.

When he was interviewed by police, Rumbaugh reportedly said that female patients may be topless depending on the treatment, and that he works around their clothing if they choose to keep it on.

Rumbaugh has been a licensed chiropractor since 1989. In April 2024, he consented to have his license suspended indefinitely by the state.

Sentencing for Rumbaugh is scheduled for Aug. 7. in front of Judge Joseph Geroge.
