Every third Saturday in May, a train of horse-drawn wagons makes its way across National Pike for the National Road Festival, also known as Pike Days. The event takes place all along Route 40 in Washington, Fayette and Somerset counties. Many homes along the road hold yard sales, and communities hold their own events to celebrate the occasion. Scenery Hill has a festival with a music stage, food trucks and shopping. The wagon train stops for a time in Scenery Hill during its journey on Saturday before continuing along National Pike.
