Uniontown police continue to investigate who shot teen

Uniontown police are continuing to investigate who shot a teenage boy in the leg on Monday evening.
Tom Kolencik, the department’s public information officer, said Tuesday the shooting took place in an alley near Dunlap Street and involved multiple gunshots. He declined to give the boy’s age, beyond saying he was a teenager, but did indicate the shooting was not life-threatening.
Kolencik said police were interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage on Tuesday. No suspects have been identified, he said.
According to a spokesperson for Fayette County Emergency Management, the shooting was reported around 4:20 p.m. The teen was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment a short time later.
Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the 24-hour tipline of Crime Stoppers of Fayette County at 724-437-8477, or the Uniontown Police Department at 724-430-2929.
