A Donora man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court this week to drug and gun charges.

According to the Department of Justice, Tre Robert Goins, 31, appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

He is due for an August trial on an additional charge of possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

According to the DOJ, on May 24, 2024, Goins fled from officers with the Duquesne Police Department at high speeds and crashed his vehicle. Officers found fentanyl, cocaine and a stolen firearm in Goins’ car.

Goins has prior convictions related to firearms, which prohibits him being in possession of a gun or ammunition.

Goins will be sentenced Oct. 22 and faces up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine, or both.
