Man facing aggravated assault charges in Greene County
A man is facing charges of aggravated assault in Greene County after allegedly throwing a rock at his girlfriend’s head in Waynesburg.
A criminal complaint was filed Wednesday against Brennenn Eddy, 36. The previous day, according to the complaint, he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend near the train tracks on Greene Street. During the argument, he picked up a piece of granite from the tracks’ ballast and threw it at her, wounding her forehead, the complaint stated.
Afterwards, a friend took her to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Greene in Waynesburg, where she received stitches for the wound, court records indicated.
The next day, the complaint continued, Eddy punched his girlfriend with a closed fist during another argument, hitting the same part of the forehead. His girlfriend made another trip to UPMC – Greene, where she told them of the injury and of her desire to press charges.
Eddy is charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault and a summary citation for harassment.
Court records list Eddy as homeless, with a birthplace in Pennsylvania.
Bail was denied for Eddy due to the serious nature of the charges and concern for the victim’s safety, according to court records.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11.
