Alli Mauzey is one of the stars of "Good Witch, Bad Witch," which will be at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Uniontown Sunday.

Which witch is which?

If you’ve never seen “Wicked” before, that answer will become abundantly clear when Alli Mauzey and Dee Roscioli take the stage at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Uniontown this Sunday at 7 p.m.

“Good Witch, Bad Witch: The Broadway Witches,” showcases a duo of dynamic divas paying homage to the wildly popular Broadway and movie hit “Wicked.” The timing is apt, since the show will be the same weekend the movie “Wicked: For Good” is released.

“Good Witch, Bad Witch: The Broadway Witches” will feature favorite “Wicked” songs like “Popular” and “Defying Gravity,” along with showstoppers from other musicals as well.

Mauzey is known for her roles in the Tony-award winning “Kimberly Akimbo,” “Hello, Dolly!,” “Hairspray” and as Glinda in “Wicked.” Roscioli is best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in “Wicked,” and holds the distinction of having played the role in more performances than any other actress.

Roscioloi was recently invited to sing at the prestigious “Broadway on Broadway.” The annual event, which is held in New York’s Times Square in the fall, is free and open to the public and has recently been rebranded as “Founded on Broadway.” It showcases Broadway musicals to celebrate each new season, with performances from current Broadway shows and cast members. Roscioli’s performance this year was accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra.

What to expect

Mauzey pulls back the curtain on what the audience can expect.

“After portraying Glinda and Elphaba in Broadway’s Wicked, Dee and I will be bringing our powerhouse vocals, playful banter and Broadway magic to the stage,” she said.

The duo are quite comfortable together, having met while performing “Wicked.”

“Since doing Wicked, we’ve traveled all over together and laugh a lot both off stage and on, sometimes even making fun of each other. We have so much fun together and I’m always in awe of her world-class talent,” said Mauzey.

According to Mauzey, the touring concert works well because it rests on the chemistry between the two performers – balancing sweet, sparkling Glinda energy with the darker, dramatic Elphaba energy. The lighthearted “good witch/bad witch” theme runs through the entire evening with jokes, a contrast in styles and friendly competition between the performers.

Mauzey, who regularly performs with symphonies worldwide, joked about her nomadic career.

“The hardest part of living out of a suitcase is not getting to pack all of my cute outfits-how Glinda or me, right?” she laughed.

The performer is looking forward to appearing in Uniontown near the holiday season.

“I always look forward to getting to know the locals wherever I travel to see how others live and what matters to them in life, so I’m looking forward to getting to know the people of Uniontown,” she said.

Mauzey also enjoys seeing smaller theaters and learning about their history.

“Every theater tells a story and it’s so special to become either a small part, or a large part of its legacy. I’m always in awe of stepping into a historic theater and taking in the information about all the artists who have come before me,” she said.

Kicking Off the 2025-2026 season

Erica Miller, executive Director at the State Theatre, said that now seemed the right time for the show due to the enduring success of “Wicked.”

“It appeals to such a large audience and makes for a fantastic family experience,” explained Miller. “It’s also a wonderful way to continue our tradition of bringing professional touring productions to Fayette County and the surrounding region,” she said.
