The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency issued an alert to cellphones across the state that 911 centers may be experiencing intermittent outages, though local dispatch centers reported not having any issues.

Supervisors at the 911 centers in Washington, Greene and Fayette Counties all said they were not impacted by the outage when reached around 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The PEMA alert urged residents to keep an eye on the social media pages for their local departments of public safety for information about potential outages.

The Butler County Department of Emergency Services posted to its Facebook page that Butler County had been affected by the outage, and asked that residents call the non-emergency line.

If you are having trouble calling 911, the non-emergency numbers are: Washington, 724-229-4605; Greene, 724-852-2911; and Fayette, 724-430-9114.
