The Masontown Community Kitchen will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown. Following the meal, a Thanksgiving service will be held by the Klondike Clergy, sponsors of the local soup kitchen. Donations are accepted for future meals. The Mon Valley Academy for the Arts Community Christmas Choir concerts will be on Friday, Nov. 28 at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center in downtown Brownsville and Sunday, Dec. 14 at Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville. Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club is accepting donations for its Wreaths Across America campaign through Nov. 30. Wreaths are $17 each and will be laid on the graves of veterans buried at Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels on Saturday, Dec. 13. Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock, is holding Sunday Soup on Sunday, Nov. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal is free, and the public is welcome.

Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock is sponsoring “Loads of Love” at the Mod Laundromat, 503 Union St., Brownsville on Sunday, Nov. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who need help paying for laundry costs are invited to do their laundry at this time.

The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting sandwich crackers, breakfast bars, or pudding cups in December. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church. At the end of the collection period, items will be packed at Brownsville First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville, on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.

The 4 C Ministry of Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic will be open for the public to come and purchase new and gently-used clothing and household supplies on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon in the garage behind the church.

There will be a live nativity on the grounds of Mount St. Macrina, 520 West Main St., Uniontown on Thursday, Dec. 4 , from 5 to 7 p.m.

There will be a Brunch with Santa at South Brownsville United Methodist Church, 412 Second St., Brownsville on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along with fun activities, there will be free hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and drinks for the children.

There will be a Pancake Breakfast with Santa sponsored by St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus #3461 and the Society of Catholic Women from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville on Sunday, Dec. 14.

The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville from 11 a.m. to noon. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food. Families wishing to sign up on the distribution day will need to bring photo identification, the date of birth of each person in the household, and verification of address.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday, Dec. 18, , from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Social Hall/St. Peter and St. Cecelia Church Parish Center, 118 Church Street, Brownsville. Appointments can be scheduled at 1-800-733-2767.

Help is needed with unloading the food bank truck at the First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Friday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. The food bank is on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m.
