New study: Blood test can detect colon cancer
Authorities have released the name of the man whose body was found in the Youghiogheny River near Dawson this month. William Guidi, 42, of Somerset, was identified through rapid DNA testing and fingerprint analysis by the coroner鈥檚 office and state police, Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker said in a statement. Two fishermen found Guidi鈥檚 body on the night of March 15. Preliminary autopsy findings suggest Guidi died from accidental drowning, Baker said. A final cause of death is pending toxicology reports. Guidi鈥檚 family has been notified, Baker said. He thanked 鈥渆veryone who has helped in the process of sharing this information to bring closure to his family.鈥�
A Fayette County man is accused of breaking into a home in Brownsville and assaulting a resident who shot him several times when he refused to leave. Ronald Rosiek, 69, was transported by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for emergency surgery after he was found by police. His condition was unknown Wednesday.
