Masontown council reverses police layoffs
State police responded to 1,098 crashes across Pennsylvania during its New Year鈥檚 enforcement period. Between Dec. 31 and Jan. 4, there were also 378 drivers arrested for driving under the influence. State police did not provide statistics for individual troops or counties. According to the state police report, there were three crashes that killed three people over the five-day period. There were also 4,377 speeding tickets issued, 508 citations for failure to wear a seat belt and 60 for not securing children in safety seats. A Waynesburg man allegedly used a buck knife to stab another man at a Greene County home. Waynesburg police found Brian Willard with uncontrolled bleeding to the left side of his stomach after Christopher Noble, 44, stabbed him on Thursday, court paperwork alleged.
