Fayette County man accused of soliciting naked images of 13-year-old

A Fayette County man is accused of soliciting naked photos and videos from an underage girl and exchanging hundreds of explicit texts with her. The 13-year-old girl told police she had been communicating with Nicholas Bane, 19, of Merrittstown, on Snapchat for about two years. The conversations were found by the girl鈥檚 guardian in April as she was going through the girl鈥檚 phone, according to the criminal complaint. Police reviewed more than 700 messages between the two, most sexual in nature, court documents stated. In an interview with police in May, Bane said he had thought the girl was 14. Greene County hires new elections officials

As Greene County begins preparing for next year鈥檚 presidential elections, it has new leadership in place in its elections office. At its meeting Thursday, the Greene County Board of Commissioners approved Josephine Weingardt as acting elections director and Dalton Zupper as acting elections manager. The board also approved a contract extension with Jessica Goughnour, a longtime elections worker in Westmoreland County who was brought on for clerical duties and to provide guidance ahead of last year鈥檚 November general election.
